move into a new house or apartment

When you move into a new place, you have no idea who already has a key or how many keys are out there. That’s unsettling, but it doesn’t have to be. After you google ‘emergency locksmith’ select Kensington Locksmith Company. We’re mobile locksmiths.

We’ll send a residential locksmith over to inspect all your locking mechanisms. Afterwards, we’ll recommend either rekeying locks, repairing or replacing them as necessary. You’ll sleep better at night knowing all your locks have been changed and work as they should… in fact, your insurance policy may require it.

For your increased security, we always recommend you consider rekeying locks or installing new ones when you move. The type and condition of the locks in your new place dictates which would be better for you. We’ll let you know.

If a lock is high quality, typically all we need to do to improve your security is to
change the tumblers inside and provide you with new keys. Our rekey lock service is less expensive than installing new locks. However, sometimes we find the locks are not very good quality. That means they can easily be broken…perhaps they already are. That’s not safe in any neighborhood.

If we find broken locks… where the key just turns without doing anything, or doesn’t turn at all… we will repair the lock or replace it. If this is the case, you might consider installing higher quality locks throughout your new home or apartment to increase your security. We can help. We’ll be happy to inspect your new home and make our recommendations. We’ll even provide you with a free estimate.

Considering installing new doors? We have all tools we need to drill holes and expertly install the lock of your choice on your new doors. We make it easy to upgrade locks and improve your security, while you improve your home’s aesthetics and curb appeal.

You know it isn’t just keyed locks on your doors that you should change or upgrade when you move into a new place. Don’t forget to ask us to inspect and repair the locks on your mailbox.
